Always good to ask probing questions and ones that put you on their level. fund strategy, what would they do if the found someting outside the strategy they loved, what lessons learned from prior funds are most valuable and what will help to ensure best probability success. other strategy questions, etc...
thanks man, appreciated. another broader question for yourself and others if you can, what do you think drives decision making on who makes the cut for lateral interviews. have gone through a couple processes now where everything seems to go smoothly, I talk to the whole team, and then boom I get the following feedback "thanks for your interest, the team appreciated your background and experience but has decided to move in a different direction". starting to become somewhat frustrating since I usually make it through the early rounds.....
