Lateral process for MD/partner level
Hi all, genuinely curious what the recruitment process is like at VP/MD/partner level? Do HH/BD at other firms just reach out and it’s all about fit? Or are we still talking ‘technical interviews’ at any point?

Our bank is currently looking for a director in another city. The head of the group has informed us that he will be contacting existing contacts in that city as well as working with a HH to find a new director.
I think that all of the VP positions are still posted to our website and are filled through internal and external candidates that apply.
That is just how our bank does it but I would assume it is very similar at most banks.
I see, thanks for the insight. But curious if the actual process of determining whether someone gets the job is still similar to junior level role, i.e. technical + fit + connections etc. or dependent on other things
Sorry, I do not have insight on this (a little to far down the ladder), but I I had to take a guess, it probably becomes less technical and more of potential connects and pipeline.
