lateraling but limited modeling experience
Hi, I'm looking to lateral from my current firm (regional boutique) to a MM. I've been an analyst for about a year now, but while I've had exposure to all parts of the M&A process, I really didn't get to work on the models much on my deals. However I am easily trainable and can pick things up fast. I feel like I haven't gotten the modeling and technical experience that one should have gotten as a first year. I know that my interviewers will ask details on my modeling experience, so is there a way to angle this better? Honestly, I would be willing to be hired as a first year, but don't know how to word that..
