latering in PE after undergrad ?

Any updated outlook on this ? I recently landed a 2022 summer gig at a LMM-MM shop. Seems like it’s a volume shop so experience should be good. Apparently FT return offer rate isn’t too hot so I’m wondering..

1. Can I recruit elsewhere for FT? Do PE shops even recruit for analysts outside of their intern class? If I don’t get a return am I basically fucked? Is this even worth giving up IB for if I get majorly fucked with no ft offer? Kind of what I’m wondering right now.

2. If I go to this shop for FT, what do my lateral ops look like for UMM in a year or two?

3. If I don’t get a FT offer, will this 2022 junior yr summer gig hold any merit if I wanted to recruit for banking for FT?

Thanks monkeys.
