Law student needs advice

Hi everyone, i am 2nd year studying Bachelor of Laws in Melbourne with a WAM of 80+. Do i have any chance of landing a job in big investment banks in Australia, NYC or London once i graduate as im not doing a double degree, if yes what would you recommend me to do/focus on while at university in order to increase my chances. Thanks all advices welcome.

How is it that you're not doing a double degree? I didn't know Aussie unis allowed single degree LLB

In any case, no worries. I've met loads of people who did History, Philosophy, even English Literature and still made it into banking. Just do what those Comm/Law people do - go to networking events, try to get relevant experience at case competitions and leverage those into internships etc. Consider taking a year or semester off school to work at a boutique or in corporate finance (seems like a popular option down under). If your grades are good, look into the MLF at Oxford. A lot of LLB grads do that program and then manage to get into finance. 

You have a real shot for these roles in Australia. If you want to get to London/NYC your best shot would be to get something in Australia first and then move internally.
