Many major banks instituted a policy this year where they will request your transcript from your institution to verify GPA/courses etc.
On a related note: How do background checks work exactly? Do they check before they make an offer? Or after you accept the offer?

I accidentally rounded up my 2.18 to a 3.8 during recruitment. It was the classic “2+1.8” slip up.
Upside is I got the offer, downside is I’ve been hiding from Israeli Mossad to this day…
