London BB early-start after SA

I am a last year undergrad doing a summer internship at a BB in London this summer. Technically, I graduate next spring but I’ll be done with all my coursework and thesis in June already. Assuming I get the return offer, how likely will it be to get an early start programme right after the internship or maybe in January next year. Does it depend on the mkt environment? Do all BBs handle this the same?

Was in the exact same situation as you last year. I finished my coursework before the beginning of my summer internship in London, did my 10-week summer internship and I received the offer. I mentioned several times to my team and the HR that I would love to start ASAP (either as early as October 2022 or January 2023). HR gave me the oral confirmation for January 2023 and I signed my contract. Then, beginning of November, the bank called and said I would start in July instead because of economic slowdown. So, yes you can do an early start, but just wanted to warn you that, as it is not the norm, you can be fucked at any moment. So I would recommend you have a backup plan until the very last minute even if they tell you are gonna do the early start.
