lost and confused
graduating in 3 weeks with BS in Finance, spent the last 4 years playing college baseball at a non target school in Florida. spent my summers training and playing summer ball so the only internship I have to put on my resume is for a Financial Advisor Firm where they mostly sell insurance and plan for retirement. I want to get into Investment banking but lack experience and all jobs I have applied for I haven't heard a peep back from in months. The only potential job I have is for firm specializing in ETF's where I would become an Internal Wholesaler after a year. I want to get into Investment Banking and eventually PE down the road like everyone else so would it be a mistake to take this job if I was offered? Would it put me back a few years? I Made it through first 2 rounds of interviews and final round is in January, what is pay and bonus for an ETF Internal Wholesaler in the Philadelphia area after a year or two? Would it be worthwhile to stay long term and/or is it possible to pivot this into a PE career?
Too late.
Start emailing/calling boutiques ASAP. Otherwise, try out this other job on the table. Who knows, you may enjoy it.
Try a job in real estate - you may like it. They often hire on a as needed basis, and transitioning to real estate PE is a lot easier than regular PE.
