westfaldMacquarie, for IBD at least.

whats wrong with PAG

I'm sure nothing, but Macquarie's an investment bank and you'll get some modeling experience; really good modeling experience actually. When I interviewed with them I had do a mock DCF for a toll road or some pub finance shit. Needless to say, I didn't get the offer. But they seemed cool.

The PAG would be pretty good for HF placement, as far a research position goes. If you worked there for 2 yrs -> a CFA. You could work at a pretty rad shop I'd assume.

definite no for ops. the real question is IB or analytics/IM?

PAG will help you develop a great quantitative skill set with a possibility for moving into a more portfolio management role. PAG would also probably offer great HF exit opps.

IB is totally different. Not sure about exit opps for Macquarie in particular, but if you see yourself in PE or Corp Dev later on, this may be the more attractive option.

PAG is terrible. It's much more technical and less FO than you think. A roommate in the place worked there FT and was pretty miserable. (But they paid for his CFA stuff at least!)

Take the IB position.
