MBIA/bond insurer interview

Hey everyone, I'm a longtime lurker and finally decided to make an account. I have an interview with MBIA Inc coming up and wanted to know if any one has interviewed with them or with another bond insurance company such as Ambac. It is for an Asset Management Analyst position.

I guess my questions are - How will this interview be different from any other finance interview? Will I need to know something beyond accounting principles?Speaking of accounting, they want someone who has taken some classes however I haven't taken a single class. In my past positions, I have pretty much taught everything to myself so I kinda don't know what to expect here.

  • I've read the job description, however it is very general...what will a bond insurer company ask at a job interview for a 1st year analyst gig? Actually, what will be the general duties for a 1st year analyst at a company such as this?

Sorry that I'm being vague, I don't have much information myself. If someone can help me out I would really appreciate it.

Also, if anyone has access to the Vault Surveys (I think you need to be a Gold member), can you please send me the information for the company? The link is http://www.vault.com/companies/company_main.jsp?c…

Thanks!
