Let’s say I messed up a summer analyst interview at a place I’m interested in. Could I reapply full time after a summer elsewhere? How should I keep up with contacts after I forgot something pretty basic during an interview?

Definitely re-apply. As for your contacts, it depends how close you are with them. At the bare minimum let things cool down for a while. If you just knew them from the interview, I'd hold off. If you knew them from networking or other stuff, wait till you get a role, then shoot them a nice note thanking them for all of their help and updating them that you landed somewhere. Ask them if you can take them out for coffee sometime. If they say yes, you're still good and you can probably forget the fuck up. If they ignore you, I'd drop it.
