MM PE Interview Prep work, Final Round Case Study

Hi All,

I made it to the final round for a PE analyst position after being given a take home modeling and investment committee presentation assignment. Can someone who's been through such interviews give me any pointers? Especially curveball questions encountered with regards to this type of interview. The outline of the PPT is as follows. Thanks a lot!

i. Investment thesis: List of main reasons for investment, with supporting details

ii. Key Potential Risks & Mitigations for each risk

iii. Earnings Power: Commentary on earnings power of company in three specific areas

• Historical Financial Performance: Strength of historical financial performance
• Barriers to entry: Ability of company to defend market position
• Future Growth Potential: Growth prospects for company and industry

iv. SWOT (Strength/Weakness/ Opportunity/Threats) matrix

v. Financials: P&L; Balance Sheet; Cash Flow (1 page each)

vi. Comparable analysis

vii. Valuation/Returns: Summary valuation output and return projection for fund

viii. Appendix: Additional diligence questions you would like to clarify
