MS FT
I'm a senior looking for a FT spot, preferably on a trading floor. I have a high level contact at MS that is willing to put me in touch with heads of different divisions that might be hiring. Ideally, I'd like to be on a trading desk within FICC, but I don't think I'm in a position to be selective...at all. Does anyone know of groups/desks that are hiring at MS?? First and foremost i'm looking for a job. Any advice, thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
Hmm... I don't know if Microsoft has a trading floor, but they sure do have a ton of cash! I'm sure they invest it somehow, probably a small group of people or traders making decisions for the firm. Just look up the number in for their HQ in Redmond and give them a ring, I'm sure you will be referred to the proper place.
Most F100 or so firms, have a treasury department that works with banks to invest their money in short-term instruments. So look into what division at Microsoft has these people, they usually report directly to the CFO.
But beyond that, Project Manager at MS is pretty good gig, not trading but definately a sought after job.

If you have high level contacts, then I think you have a better chance finding out internal hiring demands from them than college students on this broad. Just saying'
And... not to be snarky; it's FID or IED @ MS.. so please don't refer to their "FICC" (GS uses this..) division during an interview.
Believe it or not, microsoft actually has a very sizable trading floor for their derivatives, etc.
I guess I should have been more clear: by MS, I mean Morgan Stanley, not Microsoft. However, appreciate the well-intentioned advice regardless. Good call on FID/IED, shemonkey.
lol
i had a feeling you were talking about Morgan Stanley.
I'm pretty sure MS FT recruiting is over now.
I did my FT recruiting back in Oct or Nov.
