Need a second look at my experience to get into IB
TLDR: I just finished my sophomore year and am going to be a Junior this fall. I was able to secure a finance Internship working with investments/accounting/M&A for my sophomore year internship. (Double major in Quantitative Finance and Management Information Systems at a semi target school)
I've applied to IB's that still have openings for next summer and seeing how things are going with their recruiting being done and all are there any I should be keeping an eye out that are actively taking applicants right now? I've been looking more at consulting to break into IB but would love some opinions on what you suggest I should do.
Big 4 transaction advisory usually recruit in the fall (so fall of your junior year). Pwc calls it deals valuation, EY calls it strategy and transactions I think, don't know about Deloitte. But those groups are basically being the due diligence/advisor to buyer/seller in IB, where IB is the middleman. Big 4 transactions get poached a lot for IB. If you don't get an offer, try those guys and lateral later
