Need advice on reneging!!!!!!

Hey Guys,

A few weeks ago, I signed an offer for a Portfolio Management type SA position at a MM bank. However, I recently got an offer to do public finance at another reputable bank (think Wells Fargo, Jefferies type). I am pretty interested in public finance as a long term career, so I would definitely like to take this opportunity. However this would mean I would have to renege, which I know is frowned upon. I was wondering if I could get some input from this forum on 1. If I should renege and 2. If I should, what is the best way I could go about doing it?

Any input is valued and appreciated!

My main concern is having one bank contact the other so I am left with nothing. I am also aware I could be banned from OCR, but there is very little of that at my school so I don’t care much about that
