Need advice - struggling to find an opportunity in C&D

Hi Guys,

I have been looking for a new position for a while now( more than 6+ mths) but still have no luck in receiving an offer. Despite I have around 3+ yrs of C&D experience, a transition from a medium sized company to a bigger company has been a struggle for me. I noticed a lot of people that ended up getting an offer at the companies I interviewed either come from a small, no-name boutique investment bank or was doing equity research. Why do companies hiring C&D position favor IB or equity research experiences over a direct experience like myself? And, what are my options now if transitioning into a bigger company’s C&D position is so slim? Would networking with MM IB be a better option?
