Need help deciding offers!!!! HELP
I am stuck between choosing two offers (both in London and both 6 month off-cycle internships with option to convert to full-time if you perform well):
1st offer: Citi Financial Strategy Group (it’s in the IBD division but don’t really get what they do/ their exposure to clients and if they get bonuses for deals or not? Not sure if they work on actual deals)
2nd offer: Macquarie Capital M&A Group (IBD division). This group I know work on deals and advise clients
please help I’m very stuck and have no idea which is better for career progression, career exits and bonuses/pay
How does one get an offer for a position he has no idea about?
There’s not much info online about FSG at Citi and just need help/guidance with it
Quite a few of the banks are creating/have created similar groups to FSG. Basically it’s a capital structure advisory team, so you’ll do a lot of DCF work, work on bond pricing and ECM. Not a huge amount of M&A but a very technical group for all things capital markets related. Even from “lower prestige” (whatever that means) banks I’ve seen exist to Tac-Ops style funds.
Do you have any opinion as to which offer option is better + why please? Would really appreciate any advice
What are you looking for?
Career exits, deal/client exposure and I guess pay too
