Need help on recruitment season

I have just graduated from college about 1 year ago currently working in the Treasury department of a major bank in Canada doing some valuation work.

I want to move toward credit or equity research roles. However, I believe it is much harder to transition into equity research than debt research.

I am just wondering when is the hiring season for credit research. Other than rating agencies, is there any other possible routes to gain more experience on credit research.

Many thanks in advance, KFC_NHL

futurectdocNetwork in the field to start, Moody's, Fitch etc. are decent places and I was told by both a sell and buy side exec that for bond heavy positions, Mixed/Fixed Income/Bond Funds that some of their best people have come out of there.

I agree this is what I need to do. Do you happen to know when is the recruiting season for the junior roles in rating agencies? What kind of stuff should I read on to prepare myself? Maybe I should try to do summer internships @ these places first?
