need help..deloitte internship

Hi guys, I somehow managed to find a contact in Deloitte's Mumbai office(the person heads the financial services practice).Had a telephonic conversation with him regarding an internship. He is willing to put me into some project as a summer intern, but wants me to mail him as to which areas I would like to work.He told that he already knew that I am flexible but wants some sort of direction,so that he can find something useful for me. Now I perfectly know that I wont be getting whatever I want(such as working in the corporate finance advisory/investment banking practice ),since it depends on what kind of projects are available. As of now I do not have any other option.Dont want this opportunity to go,just for the fact that a Big4 will look good on my resume. How should I go about emailing him,so as to not screw up whatever opportunity I have? As for my background,I am pursuing masters in finance from a non-target.

My guess is that he wants to see you actually did some homework, took the time to research his company, and actually figure out where you want to work. Also if you do put the time in, read up on their website and figure out where you WANT to be, it will probably be a much more beneficial time spent there than having him just plop you down into a random division you either A) do not want to be in or B) know nothing about

Those are my 2 cents, do the research, figure out where you want to go and then tell him where and why.

I had the same kind of situation with a top 5 consulting firm (think MCK, BCG, Bain, Booz, Monitor) where the guy was pretty much like I can connect you with whatever MD of whichever division you want to work in, spend a week or two looking into them all and then let me know what interests you the most.
