need some job search advise/wisdom

Hi all, long time lurker first time poster here.

A little background before my question. Brazilian economics undergrad student at the top target school in São Paulo, generally pretty good grades, well spoken, really interested in investment banking. I´ve tried to soak up all the great advise offered on the site and now´s the time to put it to work.

I went to an interview at a M&A boutique, pretty good dealflow, pretty significant deals these part few years, despite being relatively new in the market. The interview went great, I got along really well with the analyst, answered their finance and accounting questions without a hitch and was the only one to interview with the six analyst that day (the rest interviewed with four; found out by talking to the other candidates afterwards). I got an email a few days later telling me to come to an interview with the associates, so I thought everything was going pretty great.

My problem is this. This being São Paulo, I decided to leave an hour before the interview but it wasn´t enough that day because the traffic was horrible. I arrived 20 minutes after the scheduled time, rattled and very upset and the interview with the associate didn´t go so well since the dude looked desinterested. I managed to answer his questions without a problem but I just wasn´t on my game and the fact that I arrived later obviously didnt earn me any points. Needless to say, I didnt create a very good impression.

I sent an email apologizing to the analyst in charge of the process and he answered a few hours later telling me to relax and that they would check their schedules and get back to me about rescheduling the interviews. The problem is, he didn´t. I know noneone has been hired as of yet and this next week is when the interviews with the partners should begin, according to what I was told the day of the interviews with the analysts. So I guess my question is, do I still have a shot? If I maintained the form I was in during the interviews with the analyst I obviously do but now I don´t know anymore.

This is not the end of the world if I don´t get the interview, I have interviews with a few other banks and boutiques in the next few weeks but recruiting season is coming to an end so there´s obviously a sense of urgency ahaha.

I apologize for any typos and bad sentence structure, I just got back from hanging out with my buddies hahaha.

Thank you very much !!
