Need Sponsorship during STEM OPT - am I f*%ked?? Or is this opportunity worth it

Basically I’m doing a masters in finance at a school traditionally viewed as a Lower rank target school. I am international and so I’m moving to the US with the hope of landing in IB. Been networking like crazy and all alumni are so nice and supportive and willing to help but I’m so worried I’m fuckef from the start due to needing sponsorship for H1B  during my 3 years of STEM OPT. Am I in a bad position and at risk of getting nothing? Hoping to target NYC or Chicago as culturally is most like home but looking to network with anyone anywhere. Would love opinions or stories of people who it worked out for please.
