Networking Calls

Anyone have advice with conducting a good networking call and potentially translating it to a 1st round. Just got off one where an Associate grilled me for not explaining my story, why IB or asking relevant questions the right way. Never had this experience before and usually connect well on calls. I assume when talking to VP/MD to have a relevant deal or market trend ready to discuss.

Just takes practice. Some people can be hardo’s on calls… just gotta keep at it and you’ll meet people who keep things more chill. I’m S&T so technicals don’t matter a whole lot, just gotta keep up with markets. Usually end up talking about something in their product that I know enough about to hold a conversation in.

Other calls, I’ve talked about nothing but summer plans. 20 minutes of hobby’s and vacations and trips we both like to take. Every call is different.
