Networking during Corona/protesting?
Given the state of the world, is it tactless to try networking right now? If I were an analyst, I think I would be less likely to respond to networking outreach because of WFH. I also spoke to one contact I have recently and he said I should refrain from reaching out now due to the current BLM moment, as he said it would be 'very inconsiderate to be networking when people are out fighting for their lives' (his words not mine). Do people agree? Is it worth putting networking on hold for a month or two until the world returns more to normalcy? Obviously it hurts my recruiting efforts to wait, but waiting is probably preferable to trying to network and looking like an idiot. Have people been successful with their outreach? Anyone get rude responses to networking?
