Networking Message: too busy - next steps?
I sent a cold networking message to someone at a bank and while they were polite, they simply told me they were too busy (not in these words of course, they just took a while to respond then said something ab having a lot on their plate).
Is this their subtle way of telling me to fuck off? Should I thank them for their time? Should I ask them to refer me to someone else at the bank? What should be my next steps here?

First, thank him for his consideration. Second, given this is a cold email, may not hurt to ask if there's a best, more available person to reach out to given their busy schedule. I was often told that, while my contact couldn't chat, X person may have a little less on their plate right now. Obviously don't wanna come off as pushy, but since it's a cold reach-out, this is a chance to be respectfully assertive
Thanks, my concern is that I don't want to come off as pushy or entitled. I know how delicate these cold situations can be.
