Networking shouldn't be something you switch on or off, if you meet someone through a hobby (gym, cars, nightlife, your friends, ...) - then have a chat, see if you get along and see if you can work together.

I recently sourced one deal through my car hobby.

 

apologies, I was discussing the reverse scenario.
I don't see a problem reaching out to people when you have things in common.

If I would get a message  regarding my interests (as I have on WSO or other platforms), I would be happy to connect or speak.
