New monkey looking for guidance

Hey everyone, I recently discovered WSO and this is my first post. I have seen how helpful people are on this site and I would like some advice.

I graduated in 2011 from a semi-target as a Statistics major and I work for a regional bank where I do corporate FP&A. I have been working at my current job for less than a year and I have decided it's not for me. Recently, I reached out to my network to see if I can find anything related to IB. A friend of mine works for one of the big 4 accounting firms in transaction services and said he can get my resume to one of his managers. Now, I know it's not exactly related to IB but they have a valuation and M&A advisory group as well. So, my questions is should I pursue this lead or try to get in at a MM? I am hesitant to leave my current job in such a short time (9 months) and I only want to switch jobs if it will bring me closer to IB.

Also, what skills should I concentrate on and highlight on my resume? I did a lot of reporting in my FP&A role, which involved of presentations and quick turnaround on decks. Thanks in advance for any advice.

Note: my GPA sucks(~3.0), so I might have to take what I can in the beginning.
