No Freshman Summer Internship, Advice?

Hello,

I'm a student at a non-target school in the midwest with a 4.0 majoring in Finance, and I unfortunately don't have an internship this summer. Applied to a handful, but simply didn't hear back from most or was rejected by email. I know it's late to post this, and I would've done this sooner but I was confident I was going participate in a program that I ultimately, wasn't selected for. I'm now wondering what I should do this late into the summer. For context, I'm in NYC, and I've usually worked during the summers in retail (or something similar). Currently thinking of reaching out to search funds. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
