No Return Offer, Devastated, What Now?
Interned at a strong east coast MM bank that punches above its weight this summer and was told that I wasn’t getting the return offer today, I was cut for one development area that I had, despite very strong feedback otherwise. From what I have heard, I basically don’t have a shot at most processes. Many EBs (not that I was gunning for these) have already filled their classes, BBs are holding superdays this week for people who were already rerecruiting, and so on.
What can I realistically expect out of this process, and what should I do starting tonight to maximize my chances of getting an offer? I would like to be in NYC, but flexible there.
Lie and say you got it but want to work in a different group and just pedal to the metal recruit. Just lie.
