Non-target freshman

So as the title suggest, I am a non-target freshman, moving from Texas to the north east specifically Boston for college. What are some of the things I can do to possibly prepare me for freshman year’s summer internship. I have looked into a couple prep courses but are any actually worth it or should I just be looking into other avenues? I totally understand that coming from a non-target. I’ll have to work to 2x harder than everyone else, but mainly wanting to look for a direction to harness that energy. Any help would be great.
