Not having an internship as a Freshman
I’ll probably get a lot of MS for this. So technically I’m still in the running for a potential internship this summer but it’s very unlikely it will happen - though I plan to continue doing my best in finding one even if the odds are pretty unfavorable. I was hoping to apply to BB sophomore diversity internships since I qualify for them but the aforementioned situation does complicate things a bit. Context wise, I was in a semi-target school as of three days ago but unexpectedly was accepted at a target Ivy, so I don’t know if this might help my chances in securing an offer for 2021. Any advice is appreciated.
Seriously? Most freshmen don't get internships. I worked fast food my freshman summer. Tons of juniors have gotten their internships cancelled.

Some hedge funds may want to hire you for your quantitative, analytical, and very accurate foresight.
I was a camp counselor my freshman year, you're fine
In all seriousness, take whatever finance-related internship you can find as a freshman in this environment, I doubt interviewers will have high expectations on that front. Otherwise, taking classes, working retail or non-profits, learning something new, pursuing a hobby are all good uses of time for freshman year.
But really you are fine, do not worry about it. I went from camp counselor with no finance experience to getting PE and EB internships. Enjoy summer while you can
