Offer Decision

Have 2 offers right now: Commercial Banking at a BB vs. Corporate Banking at Keybanc capital markets. I believe that Corporate banking at Keybanc is part of their IB division, if I'm not mistaken.

Not sure which one would be better. Thoughts on this?

Thanks!

Definitely Corporate Banking...if the goal is to move to IB.

That being said KeyBanc is probably a less recognized name and will not be the book-runner in alot of transactions.

Thanks for sharing! How easy would it be to move into IB from Key Corporate Banking? I thought that corp banking exits are primarily private credit/DCM/other credit role?

Edit : misread your BB option, if corporate banking at key I’d go there

Easily corporate banking at Key. Can always lateral later if needed

look into the internal lateral policy at your BB- know lots of people that started in non-IB roles and were able to network internally to get to IB. Don't know much about Keybanc but often times internal transfers are significantly easier than lateraling firms

I would disagree...if you get stuck in Commerical Banking you will not be able to move into IB without a Masters/CFA.
