Offered a summer internship at KPMG, will it hurt or help my chances of getting into investment banking?
I am in my third year, studying Math Econ. My goal is to get into investment banking. I got offered a summer internship at KPMG, but I am also talking with people in the investment banking industry, but nothing concrete yet. KPMG wants my response soon, but my question is will doing an internship with KPMG hinder my chances of getting into investment banking?
Are you going for tax, audit or consulting?
ideally you want to get into their consulting group as that has a lot of transferable skills for IB
KPMG has more than 150,000 employees. This is one of those instances where it would be a good idea to state which division you have an offer for.
It is with their advisory group
it will hurt your chances only if you perform poorly during the internship.
KPMG is better than doing nothing.
