On interview day?

so basically I have 6 interviews coming up on Tuesday with 2 different banks:
Bank 1: 1300 - 1430
Bank 2: 1500 - 1700

how do you guys prepare yourself in terms of being in the right mindset the entire day? heavy / light breakfast? i've heard of red bulls before interviews? Any other general advice you might have for the interview day? Any advice to cure the nerves just before the interview? any other "soft" advice for the interview day (smiling, being nice, firm handshakes) etc? Any other secrets?

Thanks

I usually start the morning off with a healthy breakfast - Cup of tea, glass of orange juice and 2 pieces of toast with 2 scrambled eggs.

Red bulls won't help you stay calm.

Smiling, lots of eye contact, leaning forward and being animated help the interviewer feel like it's a friendly conversation.

That's about all the advice I can really give you.

Bro

Red Bull 10 mins before first interview. Water between interview 1 and 2. Coffee between 2 and 3.

Smile, show some personality, firm handshake, remain composed at all times.

No fear of failure...

Trust me on this - my track record:

Tier 2 European bank, 2006, 8 interviews, back to back, followed by 2 more on a separate day. Red Bull and coffee used. Offer

Tier 2 European bank, 2007, 1 interview for first round, followed by 4 interviews, back to back, followed by 1 more as a final round. Red Bull and coffee used. Offer

Euro BB, 2007, No Red Bull, 1 interview, rejected.

Elite boutique, 2009, 6 interviews back to back. Red Bull and coffee used. Offer

BB, 2010, 6 interviews spread across 6 different days, Red Bull before each one. Offer

BB, 2010, 8 interviews spread across 6 days (1, 1, 2, 1, 2, 1), Red Bull and coffee used. Offer.

Do whatever you need to do to get pumped up in the "I can rock this" not "I want to punch someone in the face" kind of way. For me it was working out early in the morning, reading the FT, and then listening to some music. Good luck.

thanks for your advice guys.

how about nerves just before the interview? something happens exactly 15 mins before I am supposed to go it and I think this has a major impact on my performance. any psychological things I can do to take that off??

red bull isnt to calm the nerves, I use it simply to get a bit more energetic as i am a fairly quiet guy. To calm nerves, listen to Old Dirty Bastards 'brooklyn zoo' if you are the type of person who needs to get pumped, or listen to this:

if you are the type who needs some perspective to calm down.

there is a very easy way for you to kill two birds (i.e. nerves and giving the right impression) with one stone -engage people in conversation. chat up the other travellers while you're waiting in the airport, shoot the shit with your cabbie, and make sure to talk with the receptionist and the candidates when you arrive at the firm. not only does this convey the message that you're personable, but it helps you get into a comfortable, conversational mindset before your interviews as well.
