Oxbridge/LSE vs T20s/Top LACs/Ivies

Am an international student from south east asia applying to college soon. For investment banking/consulting recruiting out of undergrad, how does oxbridge/lse fair against US T20 calibre schools. I heard that while Oxbridge might be more prestigious, is it true that getting a job in the UK is harder than in US? Also, would it be better to choose oxbridge or a non HYP tier T20 like Cornell, Williams, Northwestern for career prospects?

Well it depends, do you want to work in the UK or the US? If you want to work in the UK, go with Oxbridge/LSE. If you'd rather be in the US, go with T20 schools. If you're asking about "prestige" in absolute terms, then I'd say that Oxbridge/LSE = Ivy League (+Stanford, MIT) and that other top UK schools like Imperial, UCL, Warwick, and LBS are akin to other US targets (like Northwestern, Berkeley, Georgetown, UChicago, UMich, NYU-Stern, and the likes)

I agree with you, and so are Imperial, UCL, and Warwick (at the undergrad level). The likes of UChicago, Georgetown, Berkeley, etc, are targets as well. My comment differentiated two tiers of targets. Oxford and LSE, even at the postgrad level, remain more prestigious than LBS despite all three being targeted. The same goes for schools like HYPWS and other Ivy+ vs schools like Berkeley/Northwestern/Stern and so on.

Also:

At postgrad level in Europe, it's the best option

No. You wouldn't take LBS's masters over Oxford's MFA or LSE's MFin. I'm not talking about MBAs btw (that's another topic entirely)

Maybe you know better tbf, but looking at the outcomes and profile of incoming class between LSE MSF and LBS MFA, just from a LinkedIn search I think LBS takes the cake. This is interesting for me to hear because I’m likely to do a masters in Europe after finishing my undergrad in the states.

The employment outcomes are largely dependent on the person for Master's at LBS or LSE.

I know people from both programmes that got great jobs, and others that didn't get anything before graduation.

I don’t think you can even compare LBS to these other schools for the simple fact you need a minimum of 2+ years just to apply and top GMAT grades. That’ll likely eliminate 70%+ of the people that would apply to a MSF at LSE for example, making employment results at LBS greatly skewed to the positive. Although I’d say there and HEC Paris are the #1 programme’s in Europe once we’ve factored everything in
