Personal branding and social media
Hello! Currently taking a bachelor's in finance. My dream job is investment banking, but lately, I've been thinking about private banking. My situation today is that I want to start posting videos and such about personal finances, investment strategies, talk about different companies, stock prices, etc...
If I were to go after a job in Private banking I think this could be positive.
I think having a public online appearance on social media would be a huge downside for investment banking recruiters, and my gut feeling says that doing this would probably mean no job in investment banking.
I have strong grades and try to network as much as possible. I would love feedback from people already in investment banking.
I would think anything you do to help others is a good thing to do and makes you a better employee and someone others may want to work with more. I think we all appreciate and want to work with nice, helpful, friendly people
The whole thing about private banking is that it is, well, very private. If you want to become a financial advisor, an online presence is a great way of showcasing your knowledge and skills and getting clients. But for private banking, it’s a lot to do with being professional and discreet.
