Personality Test Honesty

I am currently applying for a role and have been asked to do a personality test. They have said that I should be honest in my answers, but i'm afraid the honest answers won't get me the job.

Should I be honest on a personality test, or should I give the answers I think that they want to hear?

I would advise that you're always honest in your responses. Personality tests are not designed to see who does better, or who does worse. The idea of personality tests is twofold. Firstly, they look at if you are suitable for the role. Secondly, and equally important, they indicate if you will be happy in the role. There will be no point pretending to be an extrovert, only to find out that the role you are in is something you do not enjoy. Essentially, just remember that personality tests aren't just for the employer, they're for you too!

Cheat if you can. I’m not sure it’s possible bc like previous comment said, maybe there’s no right answer. But I’m skeptical, it sounds some classic Dlbert-level corporate bullshit where an HR pro went to a conference and learned about some new cutting edge personality test and pushed it at the firm to prove HR adds value and now y’all have to be judged on it. If there’s anything online that tells you what they’re probably looking for, aim for that. If nothing, at least signal that you’re a team guy.
