Phone-call with Director

Hey guys,

I'm a Junior at a target school, applying for SA positions. Through networking I got the contact of the Director of the of the are I'm most interested in (Credit Suisse - IBD - undisclosed group). Yesterday I cold-emailed him with my profile and some pretty interesting questions regarding the bank... and surprinsigly got an answer this morning! Basically, he told me to call him on Friday.

Have any of you been through this kind of situation? Do you know what kind of questions I should ask, so as to impress him and possibly leverage my application? I have a pretty solid resume but I'm that strong on the technical stuff. Also, how could I possibly suggest if I can send my resume without seeming too desperate?

Thanks

Talk about his career, ask some more questions about the ban, and then shoot the shit so that he likes you.

The technical questions come from general questions you ask him...oh so you worked on XXX deal, cool did you use XXXX deal for the comparable transactions. What was the deal like, what factors did you look at to value it.---general crap like that. Just show him that you have some understanding and follow the markets to a certain extent...don't over think it too much.

If you somewhat knowledge able about banking and/or recent transactions, questions will naturally flow from the conversation.

"Greed, in all of its forms; greed for life, for money, for love, for knowledge has marked the upward surge of mankind. And greed, you mark my words, will not only save Teldar Paper, but that other malfunctioning corporation called the USA."

High level questions on the markets, particularly his area of focus... I personally wouldn't go into specifics on deals he's worked on (I know some people recommend this)... I would just ask him about his career and how he got there, some general advice, and shoot the shit...
