Phone Call with Head of Company

Hey Current Mentors/Mentees,

I have a phone call with the head of a large Wall Street firm coming up soon. I don't want to look stupid when I speak with the founder. I'm checking WSJ's deal journal and FT Alphaville any other information I can find on the firm, so hopefully I'll be able to speak intelligently about his business.

I'm a nobody college kid, and my long shot in the dark hit home, so now I need to know how to present myself best to this man who has participated in things I only dream of. I'd love to be able to form a mentor-mentee relationship with him.

Any advice on questions that I can ask him beyond the obvious (how'd you get to where you are, at what point did you know that you wanted to go out on your own, etc.) to build rapport without being a sycophantic suck-up?

Thanks, Halifax

(didn't know which forum this belonged under, so I put it here as it seemed most appropriate)
