Pivoting To Public Finance

Hey everyone, I'm currently planning on pivoting out of my PhD program and launching my career while still in my 20s. After some research, I found public finance (and DCM) to be the perfect match for my background and interest in public policy and infrastructure investment.

I have relevant experience working with economic organizations (think IMF, WB) and am not against starting as an analyst. If anything, it'll only help me learn everything I need to know to build a successful career in the industry. However, I'm finding it a bit challenging to get my foot in the door since most firms hire PubFin analysts straight from their SA batch (undergrads).

I've been proactive in reaching out to alumni and networking, but I thought I'd cast a wider net. I'd appreciate any help or insights on how to best break into the industry. Thanks!
