Post-MBA bankers - where do they generally leave for, in 2 years?

With the PE route (most likely_ closed, what are the most preferred exit options for post MBA bankers? Do they prefer corp dev / strat or VC? Or have startups become the new cool thing for them?

It really depends. Usually I’d say if you’re at a top place like GS, PE is still a viable path as the brand name of the institution is great. I’ve seen some post mba associates go to newly formed pe funds as well as Vc (if you Have a tech focus). Most id say end up in Corp dev or some kind of finance roles. 2 things also worth mentioning - the pe recruiting situation for post mba bankers is fucked up states side (very regimented) and this is not the case in rest of the world; and if you’re a mbb or a t1 consultant before school and head to banking post mba at a decent firm, I’d say you have a good shot of jumping over to pe in a couple to a few years as you’ve presumably developed both financial and operating skills

Would like to hear someone stateside's take on PE recruiting post-MBA. Obviously not as regimented as you're viewed as pretty expensive at that point in your career, so top MM/MFs will pass you up for cheaper and likely more efficient talent, but surely there has to be room for post-MBA IB folks at less structured LMM/MM funds. Anyone have any data points, personal or anecdotal?
