Post-merger Integration -> Traditional M&A potential

Hey everyone!

I've recently graduated and started working for an Accountancy group which acquires other accountancy practices as a growth strategy, my role mainly entails standardising the post-merger integration across the board - regardless of the type of practice being acquired. However, I've always had an interest for traditional finance...but am a bit confused as to how I can transition from this sort of role into an Analyst position (not necessarily at a BB, beggars can't be choosers).

Just for some context, I graduated last July from a non-target, studied International Business with Management, and am now studying for the CFA. I understand my background isn't exactly a golden bullet to enter the industry but would love some advice on whether it's a possibility. I'm not looking to be in the industry for an extended period of time, I want to do an MBA and potentially pivot - the main reason for my interest in the industry is not necessarily the work itself, it's the exit opportunities once you've made yourself useful.

Appreciate all responses:)
