post ML interview/dilema

Hi all,

I am a junior at a univ. in the west coast. Recently, I got two referrals for two separate ML offices. One ML is GWM and the other is Private Banking (ultra high net worth). I eventually want to become a financial analyst at a private bank (my goal is JPM).

Here is the situation.

I just had an interview with ML GWM office yesterday. They want me to commit for two quarters. They will let me know next week about the interview.

ML PB, however, is telling me I need to wait. I am not even sure if I am getting an interview.

I prefer to intern at the latter ML because I would think interning at PB looks better than interning at GWM if I want to get into PB in the future.

Q. If I get a call from the former ML next week saying that I made it, is it okay for me to tell her that I will get back to her in a week? I prefer the latter ML but I do not want to jeopardize losing the first one when things are very cloudy with the latter ML. She says if I say yes than she will have HR call me and go through the formal application process where I do background check and stuff. Can I still move onto another place or is this like a contract?

Q. Another concern of mine is staying at ML for 2 quarters. Does it look better if I intern at a variety of places? I am still applying to UBS, RBC and some other places.

I have never done internship before. Help me out oasis experts!

Good day
