Professionally acceptable to take on a stopgap job while you search for another job?
I was thinking of taking on something like consumer credit analyst while I search for commercial credit analyst.
1) Be consumer credit Analyst 2)Get job as commercial credit analyst 3) Transfer to credit analyst for commercial bank and own it 4) Get client facing role 5) become MD or go into leveraged finance or IB 6)Enjoy Life 7)Profit 8) Start a finance mentoring program 9) ???
It's acceptable, but don't take something that you can't a) live with, or b) leverage into something else. Obviously you're writing casually and I'm sure you've given more serious thoughts to this whole thing... but just in case, don't forget that this whole "MD" "IB" etc. is all hard stuff to transfer into.
Best temp jobs before I start full time? (Originally Posted: 12/04/2017)
So I'm graduating this month and accepted a position at a boutique firm with a summer start date. I plan to travel a bit, take the GMAT, and hopefully spend a little more time in the gym, but I was curious what some of you had as temp jobs. I'd like to do something that is at least somewhat of a resume booster without going through another time consuming interview period. Thanks in advance!
