Quick Question - Providing some insight?

I just have a quick question, hoping someone can provide some insight.

I interviewed at a US BB in Canada last week. Interview went well, was asked to come back the next day to meet the MD. That night the associate called to prep me for the next day just saying it would be a quick meet and that there were three people they were down to, and it looked like I was a half step ahead at that time. Went back the next day, met the MD, all seemed good. It was pretty quick as he had a conference call soon after. They said they still had the three they were looking at and they'd let me know. I hadnt submitted my fall grades with my application since I didn't have them at application time. So they asked for those and I sent them. The grades were crappy compared to my previous grades (3.2ish). After that I sent a quick thank you email or whatever.

Moving on, my friend, who had the same path and was also told they were down to the three, received a call Monday saying he didn't get the job and that he was a close second. I on the other hand havent heard anything, neither email or call. I would have thought seeing as there were only three people they'd at least get in contact with me to let me know even if I didn't get it. So my question is really three parts; would something with the MD in the 20 minutes or so be enough to piss them off enough to not get back to me at all? and should I wait it out and either let it go if I dont hear anything or should I be the one to get in contact with them and if so the best way to do that?

Any input someone wants to throw in is appreciated.
