Realistically, what are the options of the serious underdog?

Hello everyone. Long time lurker, first time poster. I'm a senior at a non-target, no name state school in CT majoring in finance with a concentration in investments and markets. I was a terrible high school student, but have a current GPA is a 3.4 after getting my ass into gear and finding a niche in finance and a major GPA of 3.8 (switched majors after freshman year after struggling in my former major). Unfortunately, I was never able to obtain an internship. I attribute this partly on my schools end (no connections with any businesses whatsoever and serious lack of education into where to even start applying for one) and as well as my end (not being pro-active enough to educate myself on the importance of one even after understanding the lack of alumni network and business connections that my school possessed). So at the end of the day, I get most of my education on the inner workings of the finance world from you guys at WSO.

With that being said and graduation lurking in 3 months without a job waiting for me, I wanted to ask for some advice on my possible options of how to start my career after graduation. I would really love to get into IB. M&A is particularly fascinating to me but I know that the lack of internships as well as my non-target status would make it very unlikely at this point. I would honestly take any analyst related position at this point to at least get my foot in the door.

I've been thinking my best option at this point is to try to get an SA role for the summer. Is it even possible for seniors who are set to graduate do this? Also, would it be worth it to apply to a target school for another undergrad degree in Finance?

I am honestly open to all possible options because I have been networking my ass off and apply to jobs with no luck at all. Thanks again for all your help.
