Recruiter Representation
I know a guy....lets call him candidate, who was introduced to a company through a recruiter. Candidate never signed an exclusive, but the company looking to fill the position has a contract with recruiter. Candidate gave minimum salary, recruiter presented candidate, candidate received offer below min salary. No agreement was reached, as candidates min salary was above position max.
Fast forward, candidate's circumstances have changed, and needs to make a move. Same employer candidate received offer from is hiring for a different position but similar to original and candidate wants to pursue. Candidate contacts recruiter, who says "we no longer have a relationship with employer, but candidate should apply. We still would be involved because of our contract on initial intro."
.....so basically good luck and recruiter would still get paid but recruiter won't be pushing for candidate again.
Any advice or suggestions? Candidate is frustrated because recruiter never met the requirement of salary and the position never paid that high to begin with. Not acting in good faith?
