Hi, does anyone know a good recruiter who covers Dubai. I have been applying for jobs in Dubai through websites for several months now, but it seems like they have several hundred candidates for each position and my resume never gets to be viewed. So, I was thinking to reach out to recruiters and talk to them directly instead of applying online. I am not in Dubai, I work in US, otherwise I would just try to 'knock on the doors' of companies there and hand them my resume. Much appreciated!

I know someone that was looking to end up in business in Dubai. The most effective route he found as a US citizen was to join a large firm out here and then make an internal move to Dubai. It worked out well and he has been in Dubai for 5 years with no plans to come back. He went to the firm speaking Arabic and was aligned from the start catering to clients in the region. I believe it took 1 or 2 years to make the internal move but he was traveling there frequently from the start.
One thing to be cognizant of: the area is very westernized but there are still some biases in the region.
