Recruiting for UMM/MF PE Tech SF Funds

Hey all, currently an analyst in a technology group in the bay. (JEF/WB)

I'm very interested to hear about how hard it is to recruit for some of the bigger SF UMM/MF funds like H&F, Genstar, Francisco, Silver Lake, Thoma Bravo, etc from an MM shop like the ones I listed above. Would appreciate any insight that anyone has on the topic or any personal experiences recruiting with some of the bigger SF funds.

Does anyone have advice on how to stand out in Tech PE recruiting?

Thank you!

Went through on cycle recruiting and am going to a MF, though in New York not SF. Out of Jefferies / William Blair SF, unfortunately, most of the options you listed will be inaccessible. Not sure about Genstar, but H&F, Silverlake and Thoma are generally out of the question unless you are a diversity candidate (ie women / URM). However, I think you could reasonably lateral somewhere slightly better (Laz / JPM etc.) and get looks at nearly all of the above firms. Should not be too big of an issue given how hot the lateral banking market is right now.
