Recruitment events at a target Ivy?

I'm an incoming rising junior at a target Ivy that gets frequently visited by various large firms (Goldman, JPM, Barclays, etc. etc.). I'm looking to lock in a position as a summer analyst at one of them, and I have a good GPA, SAT, just finished an M&A internship at a boutique firm in NY. How vital is it that I schmooze at these events? Hundreds of other students queue up to get one question in to these various MDs and associates on the floor, so what is the odds that my getting my name out there will make a difference? Is there really any value to these events beyond just getting info on the firm?
