Recruitment Prep

Hello,

I am a freshman at a semi-target university, and I think I've decided I want to try for fall recruitment. What is the best approach to it? I have very little experience with finance, and I wouldn't even know what jobs/bulge bracket firms I'd aim for. What can I do, or what should I do, to help increase my chances at getting a summer internship for sophomore summer? I know I should be networking and learning new skills over summer, but how should I network, and are there any specific skills I should learn? I think I'm leaning towards S&T, but I'm also open to other finance fields.
